A warm welcome awaits Alexander Szymanowski at the Butarque

Argentine winger Alexander Szymanowski makes his return to the Estadio Municipal Butarque this Sunday, a year and a half since his exit from C.D. Leganés. One of the players who captained the team during the LaLiga Santander spell, he returns with Gimnástica Segoviana to face the reserve side.

Szymanowski, who arrived at Leganés in the summer of 2015, was one of the stars of the 2015/16 promotion campaign with 13 goals in his debut season, as well as another 8 in his debut LaLiga Santander season, one of which mathematically saved the Pepineros from relegation in San Mamés on the penultimate matchday of the 2016/17 season.

After two and a half years of injury troubles, he left the Blanquiazules once his contract came to an end in the summer of 2020, having competed in 90 official games and scoring 23 goals. The Pepinero fans will be glad to see him again as C.D. Leganés 'B' play Gimnástica Segoviana; it is his return to the same pitch where he made the dreams of promotion come true.
