As if it was today… three years ago Leganés got a point against Málaga at Butarque (0-0). Asier Garitano’s team kept their distance from the last positions and were closer to reach the stay at first division.

Leganés’ previous matches results were a win against Granada and a tie at Sanchez-Pizjuan. Málaga was just one position behind on the league table. The white and blues’ initial squad was: Iago Herrerín, Tito, Bustinza, Mantovani, Siovas, Diego Rico, El Zhar, Rubén Pérez, Erik Morán, Szymanowski and Guerrero. Samu García, Unai López and Machís would also participate on the match’s second half. The current pepinero’s right back Roberto Rosales would also be part of the match but on Málaga’s squad.

The locals created a couple of occasions on the first half through Mantovani and Tito. On second half Diego Rico almost scored twice but Kameni and the post stopped the chances. Diego Herrerín saved the pepineros at the end of the game stopping a header by Málaga´s Camacho. At the end it was a no-goal tie between the teams and Leganés got closer to reach the stay at first division.
