Asier Garitano: "The idea will be the same and then we will have to adapt to an opponent that will surely press us".

C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, appeared at a press conference prior to the match that the pepineros will play this Friday (21:00) against F.C. Cartagena in Cartagonova, corresponding to the twenty-seventh round of LaLiga SmartBank.

"Cartagena has made many additions in this market. It usually costs a lot after promotion, adapting to a new category. I don't know if they deserve more or less, but it's what they have. And they have a good squad, which is the most important thing. The idea will be the same and then we will have to adapt to a rival that will surely press us, we have a clear idea of where we want to take the game and then we will see if the rival will let us. If not, we will have to suffer," said the coach about the rival.
Asked if he considers this match as a 'trap match', Asier was blunt: "There are no trap matches here. All the rivals are very good, regardless of the standings and streaks. Every match is a different story and we have to spend all our energy on that. We don't care if Cartagena is at the bottom of the table or when we have to go and play against those at the top. They are all very competitive, very good".
Regarding the work that is being done on a daily basis, the 'míster' was also categorical: "We know what we want and where we want to get to. From there we will push people to the limit if we can". "The idea to follow, the path we have very clear. To compete from Monday to Saturday on a day-to-day basis so that we can then be closer to getting things right," he added.
"I think there will be teams that can get in and others that can get out. Just look at the standings last season. This is very competitive. Anything can happen. We are focused on what we do, on trying to improve and then we will see where we can get to," he said about whether or not he was worried about the standings and possible rivals for the top positions.
Finally, he continued to be ambitious about the team's dynamics: "Football is still a game and there is a percentage of luck, but I don't believe much in that. We try to work on those details and correct things we haven't done well. We try to improve every game."
