C.D. Leganés and Rayo Vallecano tied (2-2) in the first pre-season match. The Vallecanos were ahead by two goals but Sabin Merino and Gumbau, with a great free-kick, tied the final score.
The match was played in four parts of 25 minutes each. After a good start by the cucumber squad, it was Rayo Vallecano through Joni mediation who scored after a great play on the right wing by Bebe. Mauricio Pellegrino’s side had some chances but they could not tie the match.
In the third period, Pozo extended the lead, but a minute later Sabin Merino managed to cut distances after lowering a great ball with the chest and finishing with a volley.
In the final minutes, Leganés tried and ended up getting the tie thanks to a great free-kick by Gerard Gumbau. The cucumber player scored the goal of the morning.
The next game of the cucumber preseason will be on Saturday July 20th against Fuenlabrada C.F. at 9:00am in the I.D. Butarque.
