The visitors hit early in the match after a header by Sergio Ramos on the 9th minute. Leganés continued playing with heart and courage and had two occasions through Bryan Gil and Recio. Aitor Ruibal also had a chance from outside but it was Bryan Gil who scored the 1-1 after an assist by Jonathan Silva. It was 1-1 after the first half.

Javier Aguirre sent Óscar and Guerrero to the pitch after half-time replacing Aitor Ruibal and Manu. On the 51’ the blancos took the lead again with a goal scored by Asensio.
