Iván Cuéllar reached 200 matches in first division after Espanyol’s match

C.D Leganés’ goalkeeper Iván Cuéllar reached two hundred games played in first division after the last match against Espanyol at RCDE Stadium. The goalkeeper has played at Atlético de Madrid, Real Sporting and Leganés.

The goalkeeper from Extremadura made his debut on May 29th, 2005 with Atlético de Madrid at Vicente Calderón Stadium on a match against Getafe that ended with a draw (2-2). He played seven matches in the 2006/07 season for the rojiblancos under the commands of his current head coach Javier Aguirre.

After playing a season in Second Division with S.D Eibar, Cuéllar went to Real Sporting where he played for nine seasons, six of them in First Division. He reached 100 matches in the top while he was part of Real Sporting. In 2017 he finished his cycle there and signed for Leganés.

Cuéllar is now playing his third season as a pepinero. He has a total of 92 official first division matches (95 matches as a white and blue if the Copa del Rey matches are added), the last of them played at Cornellá in which his goal was unbeaten for the fifth time in the season.
