Jonathan Silva: “We needed that ball to get into the net to try to change our dynamics”

C.D Leganés’ defender Jonathan Silva scored the winning goal against R.C.D Espanyol (1-0). He was happy for the goal and satisfied with the team’s performance. The Argentinean hopes this helps to change the team’s dynamics for the rest of the season.

The pepinero’s defender summarized the clash against Espanyol: “We managed to get our objective of taking the three points. We wanted to keep our goal unbeaten and we got it”.

“We were fantastic at the back”

Silva referred to the play that led to his first goal in LaLiga and the second of the season: “We work those plays on the week, we knew that they were compact and organized but left some space on the opposite side of the pitch. Luckily, Rubén assisted me with a great ball, and I got to score. We needed that ball to get into the net to try to change the dynamics, let us hope this helps and works in our favor”.

The number 5 recognized the team needed the three points both for the league standings and for keeping up the mood: “We have been playing well but not getting the results as we were lacking of goals. We managed to do it against Espanyol and made a fantastic defensive job. If there are chances, we will continue to be focused on our game and working hard”.

Finally, Jonathan believes that the objective is still possible: “We deserved more than one win on the last games. Our objective is clear: reaching survival. We are professionals and must move forward and work with the believe that it is possible”.
