Nabil El Zhar reaches 200 matches in First Division against Atlético

C.D. Leganés’ Nabil El Zhar reached on last Saturday’s match against, Atlético de Madrid in the Wanda Metropolitano, two hundred matches in Spanish First Division. The French-Marroquin midfielder reaches the digit having also played for Levante U.D. and U.D. Las Palmas.

El Zhar arrived in LaLiga in 2011 on a transfer from Liverpool to Levante, where he defended the granota colors for four seasons in a total of 94 matches. In 2015, El Zhar moved to Las Palmas, where he played a season and a half participating in a total of 42 matches, arriving in Leganés in January 2016. As a cucumber he has defended the Leganés shirt in a total of 64 matches, being the second player in the team with the most matches in First Division after Rubén Pérez.

In his 200 matches, El Zhar has scored 18 goals: seven as a granota, five as a canario and six as a cucumber. In addition, he is the second Marroquin player with more matches played in LaLiga history, just 11 matches behind Naybet, who played 211 times in the Spanish first division.
