Preview: Aiming for consecutive victories in Anduva

C.D. Leganés travel to play this Sunday at 14:00 CEST against C.D. Mirandés at the Estadio Municipal de Anduva, in this seventh matchday of the 2021/22 LaLiga SmartBank season. The pepineros are hoping to make it a consecutive victory and their first on the road at a site of great significance for the club.

Last week's game against S.D. Amorebieta (1-0) marked the first home victory of the season for the pepineros after managing two draws so far, so this week brings the new challenge of a second win to begin the climb up the table. Such a result would be their first away win of the season after a draw at Eibar (1-1) and defeats against Real Sociedad 'B' (1-0) and Real Sporting (2-1) comprise an undesirable away record.

All of this to take place at a talismanic home ground for the pepineros, Anduva, where they achieved the only promotion in their history to the Primera División in 2016. Blanquiazul coach, Asier Garitano, will have almost the entire squad at his disposition, except for the injured Javier Avilés.

C.D. Mirandés, hoping to keep building at Anduva

For their part, C.D. Mirandés go into the game in high spirits after last weekend's away win over C.D. Tenerife, who took the lead but were denied a point by a Simón Moreno brace in the last quarter of an hour. It was the third win of the season for the rojillos, who boast a promotion play-off place.

Lolo Escobar's men have won two of their three home matches, against S.D. Amorebieta (2-0) and U.D. Las Palmas (4-2), losing the third match against A.D. Alcorcón (1-3). Mirandés are also the second highest scorers in the league with ten goals, six of them scored by the Camello (3)-Simón Moreno (3) duo.

The match will be officiated by the referee from Extremadura, Mr. Francisco José Hernández Maeso.
