The Villa de Leganés Trophy reaches its 40th edition

C.D. Leganés will end the 2019 preseason receiving Albacete Balompié on Saturday (8:00pm) at the Butarque Stadium, for the 40th edition of the Villa de Leganés Trophy. Mauricio Pellegrino's team will fight for the twentieth trophy in the last test before the start LaLiga.

Since it was first held in August 1980, the Villa de Leganés has become an unavoidable event for the cucumber club and for the City of Leganés, framed in the city's celebratios, and reaching its fortieth edition this year.

This edition, the meeting will be free for season ticket holders and members of the 2019/20 season, while tickets for the general public can be purchased €10. Only Lateral and Tribuna accesses will be open.

Leganés dominates the trophy with nineteen editions conquered (last four in a row), ahead of Rayo Vallecano and Atlético de Madrid, with four each, and Valladolid and Getafe, with three each. Real Madrid, Aranjuez, Castilla, Numancia, Salamanca and Alcorcón count each with one trophy.
