Victoria Pavón: "We want the fans to fill Butarque for the 1st Women's Villa de Leganés trophy"

C.D. Leganés presented the first 'Villa de Leganés Women's Trophy' on Tuesday morning, which will take place on October 9th at 7:30 p.m. at the Butarque Stadium and which will face C.D. Leganés Women's Senior and Rayo Vallecano Women.

The presentation took place in the Butarque Stadium's press room, headed by Victoria Pavón, C.D. Leganés' president; together with the Mayor of Leganés, Santiago Llorente; Miguel Ángel Gutiérrez, Sports Councilman, and the captains of both teams, Nati Flores for C.D. Leganés and Gema Fernández for Rayo Vallecano.

“We want it to be a special match because it will be the first time they will play at the Butarque Stadium. We want our fans to feel it that way, like a historic day, to support us, and to fill Butarque because they deserve to feel that heat too,” said Victoria Pavón.

"This is great news. LaLiga and the RFEF began long ago to support women's football, but without the clubs it is impossible for that dream to come true. It is necessary for everyone to put their best so that women's football has the same opportunities as the masculine. Leganés has been on this road for a short time but has taken that step, and today is a reality and will go even further, and we are proud to support lega women's football," said the Mayor of the city, Santiago Llorente.

"It is a historical fact for the city of Leganés that for the first time the Villa de Leganés is celebrated in women's football. One of the fundamental pillars in the delegation of sports in the City Council is the promotion of women's sport, with which these actions are welcome and we appreciate the sensitivity of Victoria Pavón and CD Leganés with women's sports," explained the Sport's Councilman, Miguel Ángel Guitérrez.

“We want to thank the club and the city council for the opportunity that will be given to us. It is not only an opportunity for Leganés, but for women's football. Giving support and visibility is very important. We are looking forward to the day and we expect the support of all fans,” mentioned Nati Flores.

"It is a dream to play in Butarque because it's a stadium with a lot of history. We thank C.D. Leganés for the invitation, because that's something does not happen every day," said Gema Fernández, female Rayo Vallecano player.

Tickets for this match are free for C.D. Leganés season ticket holders and general ticket's are priced at € 5, which can be purchased at the C.D. Leganés official store.
