Asier Garitano: "Every game in the second round costs more and we will see it against Castellón, for sure".

C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, held a press conference this Friday prior to the match that the pepineros will play this Saturday (18:15) against C.D. Castellón at Butarque, corresponding to the twenty-eighth round of LaLiga SmartBank.

The coach confirmed that "all the players are fit, except for Omeruo, who is suspended. After five victories, we hope to react after the first setback. I'm happy with how they have trained this week and we hope to play a good game".

"It's going to cost us a lot to pull out the game, like everyone else because there aren't many differences".

Asier believes that the team must continue to insist on what they are doing well and try to keep improving: "We are getting closer to the top teams and the idea is the same. We can't make comparisons with other years, let's see if we are capable of cutting back and how far we can go. We have to be more forceful defensively when we don't have the ball, strategy situations against.... Every week we prepare for the next game and we'll see if we can do it. Everyone is very competitive and we will need our best version," he said.
The coach spoke about his opponent this Saturday: "We know the difficulty of every match, no matter the position of the rivals. Castellón was able to beat Las Palmas 4-0, they play well, they have speed on the wing, and they played a good away game in Girona. It's going to be hard for us to win the game, like everyone else because there aren't many differences".

"After a defeat the first game is always more complicated, but I'm happy with how they have trained."

After the last defeat in Cartagena, Asier expects the team to offer a good reaction: "After defeats we all receive criticism, but I have no doubts with any player in the squad, they all give me confidence because they work well. After a defeat, the first game is always more complicated, but I am happy with the way they have trained, which is the most important thing. Every game in the second half of the season is more difficult and we will see that against Castellón, for sure. We will see that last month and a half of competition to see if it gives us any options, but now we are focused on the next game".
Finally, he spoke about his short stint as coach at Castellón: "At Castellón I had an experience in which the team was in a very bad dynamic, but it helped me to grow as a coach," he concluded.
