Asier Garitano: "The team believed and I am very happy. We have to grit our teeth and know how to suffer because that is also part of soccer".

The coach of C.D. Leganés, Asier Garitano, held a telematic press conference after the match that the pepineros played at Butarque against C.D. Tenerife, which ended with a 1-0 home victory, the fifth in a row.

"The objective remains the same: to be closer and closer to the best. We got through this match, but now the objective, after such a tough week, is to rest, recover and be ready for the next training session".
When asked about his assessment of the match, Garitano assured that "in a week of three matches, and after the victory against Almería in the last minute, we were convinced of the difficulty of this match, which could be decided in an isolated play, as it was, also because Tenerife is a great rival. We needed not to make mistakes, to be very much in the game, but I think the team believed and played really well, I am very happy. We have to grit our teeth and know how to suffer because that is also part of football".
For the coach, "victories give you peace of mind, but we must continue to maintain the quality on a daily basis", while he also valued the attitude and performance of the players with less minutes: "Those who start are important, but those who stay out are fundamental. It is not easy and for them it is an extra effort, but they make the difference and they are doing well to give the team an extra plus".
