C.D. Leganés 'B' beat Gimnástica Segoviana at the Butarque to complete three wins in three (1-0)

A 1-0 victory for the Pepinero reserve side over Gimnástica Segoviana in what was their 11th Segunda RFEF fixture in Group 1, played at the Estadio Municipal Butarque.

Carlos Martínez's team dominated the play right from the outset. In the 11', Álex scored the first and only goal of the encounter with incredible efficiency, taking a touch to control the long ball forward from Luis Sánchez before lobbing the ball over the keeper. The Pepinero captain marked his fifth of the campaign so far.

The affiliate team looked comfortable in possession in front of a Gimnástica Segoviana that insisted on playing in behind the Blanquiazul backline. However, Leganés 'B's defense held fast and few chances were conceded the visitors' way.

Borona close to doubling and Sergio Valero saves the day

Into the second half, the Segovian unit gained more confidence and established their presence deeper in the opposition's half. C.D. Leganés 'B' were close from suppressing this instinct right as the second 45 got underway. Borona, navigating the ball clear to a 1-on-1, had the game on his feet, but was unable to keep his shot low enough to multiply the Pepineros' lead. Gimnástica Segoviana's clearest opportunity to level fell in the 73', however Sergio Valero's athletic leap to block the shot preserved their clean sheet.

A third victory in three games for the Carlos Martínez squad, who now boast 17 points and are in 6th place, level with Pontevedra, for the play-offs. The second team prepare for their next fixture, at Coruxo F.C. next Sunday 18th November at 12:00 (CET).
