C.D. Leganés 'B' secure opening win in the Segunda RFEF after beating U.C. Ceares 2-0

C.D. Leganés win their first game of the Segunda RFEF 2-0 against U.C. Ceares thanks to goals from Borona and Mario Rivas.

A dream start for the affiliate team as Carlos Martínez steered his squad towards victory from the very start of the season. As the match wore on the blanquiazules only got more confidence in their game and pressuring the goal.

In the 18', Borona managed to open the scoring with a tight finish inside the six yard box that came from Diego's delivery on the right wing.

U.C. Ceares came close to levelling in the 34' after a corner kick generated an opportunity from the edge of the area, but the referee disallowed the home side's goal for offside. The game went into half-time with no more clear-cut chances for either set of players.

After the break, C.D. Leganés 'B' continued to look to extend their lead against an opponent who were unable to beat Victores between the sticks.

Mario Rivas widens the gap

In the 64', Mario Rivas doubled the lead when he converted a direct free kick from the edge of the area, putting it far from the goalkeeper's reach. With the scoreboard in their favour, the pepinero reserve team were the clear dominators in a second half that saw little action thereafter.

C.D. Leganés 'B' thus earned their first three points of the season on their visit to the Estadio La Cruz. The next league game will be on Saturday 11th September at 17:00 CEST against Salamaca C.F.
