C.D. Leganés F.S. commence their season this Saturday against Peñíscola F.S.

The male C.D. Leganés futsal team begin their league campaign this Saturday at 19:00 CEST, their second in the futsal Segunda División. Their first fixture sees them receive Peñíscola at home, where the recently relegated side will be looking to gain as many points as possible to stage a return to the top flight.

C.D. Leganés will be kicking off the next futsal season in high spirits after a successful, consolidating preseason. From Diego Gacimartín on the sidelines to the new faces in Manu García, Gus and Borja Blanco joining the club, experience will work to the squad's advantage as they hope to strengthen their foothold in the division and lay the foundation for greater objectives.

Diego Gacimartín, 42, is a coach with extensive experience in futsal, both in the elite and in grassroots sport, qualities that combine perfectly with the sporting and institutional project of C.D. Leganés F.S. He arrives in Leganés from Segovia, where he has spent most of his sporting career.

"The main objective is to give 100% in every training session and that effort is our starting point"

The new coach of the Blue and Whites' team points out that "the second division is a very attractive and increasingly complete category". Regarding the objectives for the season, he pointed out that "I live very much on a day-to-day basis and the main objective is to give one hundred per cent in every training session and that the effort is our starting point. That's what we have to focus on, to perform at the highest level". And he valued the club's commitment to "making this sport grow, as combining the popular interest with proper sporting institutions like C.D. Leganés is fundamental".

For their part, the veterans of the squad do not hide their eagerness and enthusiasm for this new challenge. "We have a good group and if we work well, we can compete very well in this league and establish ourselves in the category and take it step by step. In the first few days we've seen that we're really looking forward to it and we're trying to fit the pieces together, because it's a very new group", acknowledged one of the captains, Pablo Palomares.
