C.D. Leganés strengthens the midfield with the arrival of Christian Rivera

C.D. Leganés and U.D. Las Palmas reach an agreement for the one-season-loan, of Spanish midfielder Christian Rivera Hernández, 22 years old. The cucumber team saved an option to buy the Asturian player at the end of the season.

Rivera is a midfielder that possesses great physique and height, with technique and with arrival the rival area. He was formed in the Real Sporting’s academy, signing in 2014 for Real Oviedo. With the Blues he debuted with the first team at the early age of 17, achieving promotion to the Second Division, a category where he would debut the following season, playing 16 games and scoring his first goal as a professional against Alcorcón.

In the summer of 2016, he made the leap to the First Division by signing for S.D. Eibar. In his first season in Ipurua he played a total of 22 official matches, enjoying greater presence in the second half of LaLiga. The following year, he would play eight games with the armeros before being loaned to F.C. Barcelona 'B' in the winter market. In the azulgrana, he played with teammates as Rodri Tarín and José Arnaiz. He became a starter in the second half of the tournament, playing 18 matches despite which, he could not avoid the relegation to Second Division 'B '.

In the summer of 2018, he would sign for U.D. Las Palmas, where he played four matches before returning to First Division loaned to S.D. Huesca in October to cover Luisinho's long-term injury. With the Oscenses he participated in 23 matches during the season, scoring two goals against Levante and Real Betis.

Rivera, who has been international with the Spanish U19 team, will wear number 14 and will be presented soon. The player will start training immediately under the command of Mauricio Pellegrino.
