Javi Hernández's first goal in the pepineran t-shirt

The defender made his debut against C.D. Tenerife and scored his second goal in LaLiga SmartBank.

C.D. Leganés player Javi Hernández scored his first goal on Sunday against C.D. Tenerife. The full-back from Jerez took advantage of a corner kick taken by Rubén Pardo to make his debut with the Blue and Whites and score his second goal in LaLiga SmartBank.

It was the 52nd minute when C.D. Leganés had a corner kick on the left of the attack. Rubén Pardo served the cross into the box, and Javi Hernández appeared there to, after breaking free from his marker, connect a first-time shot with his left foot that was impossible for goalkeeper Dani Hernández to reach.

"The dedication is for my grandfather, who passed away a few months ago, and it's for him".

It was the first goal of the season for the '28', who returned to score in the silver category just over two years after his, until yesterday, only goal in Segunda: this had come on January 7, 2019, when he defended the shirt of Real Oviedo, at Los Pajaritos against C.D. Numancia.
Javi Hernández was very happy with his goal and the victory at the end of the match: "My teammates told me to see if they were going to cancel it out again (laughs). I was able to help get the three points in a very hard-fought match. We got the goal and we tried not to get a draw to get that fifth victory. The dedication is for my grandfather, who passed away a few months ago, and it's for him".
