In the 2019/20 campaign he played in ten games, where he introduced himself as a confident goal scorer with his memorable strike against C.A. Osasuna at El Sadar.

35 games for the first team since his debut in 2018

Once established as a full member of the senior squad, Avilés played 24 games in the 2020/21 season, alternating starts with appearances from the bench for a total time on the pitch of 1,144 minutes and becoming one of the top assisters for the pepineros.
