Mehdi Nafti: "We're frustrated by how it finished, but the team has been growing since Cartagena. Today, it felt like I was in charge of an excellent squad"

C.D. Leganés manager, Mehdi Nafti, reflected on his side’s Sunday fixture against Real Oviedo which finished goalless: “I don’t talk about results, only about our coherency and the team has been growing since the Cartagena match, but being competitive means, of course, we’re frustrated by how it finished. Today, it felt like I was in charge of an excellent squad; I hope it lasts”.

On the team's performance, Nafti highlighted "the coherency between the players on the pitch, the defensive stability, the cleansheet, the attacking threats and the squad's growing confidence, which relieves some of the frustration we're feeling. There wasn't a single point today where I felt we looked vulnerable". On the club's table position, the coach expressed: "I'm not worried about anything because I have a responsible changing room; they know the situation, which is delicate, but their performance, more than anything, makes me optimistic for what's to come".
