Asier Garitano: "We are happy, but we know we need to improve on what we did today, especially in the first half".

C.D. Leganés' coach, Asier Garitano, appeared at a telematic press conference at the end of the match between the pepineros and Girona F.C. at Montilivi, which ended in a 0-2 win thanks to a brace from the swiss Kevin Bua.

The coach assessed the match in this way: "We wanted to try to improve away. We had a strong opponent who didn't let us, we conceded a goal from set pieces, which is something we have to improve even if it was disallowed. The first half was not good, but in the second we were better and the bench players gave us a lot. We had the clearest chances and we had to be balanced. Going ahead gives you a plus. We are happy, but we know we need to improve on what we did today, especially in the first half," he said.

"It's not easy for the people on the bench to come out and contribute, their predisposition makes me very happy."

The changes had a great effect on the match, and the player from Bergara wanted to praise all his players: "It would be great if I said that I took Kevin off because I knew he was going to score two goals. It's not easy for people on the bench to go out and contribute. It's annoying for those who don't start, but Kevin, Gaku, Sergi, Miguel, Sergio... their coming on was very important, their predisposition makes me very happy".
Asked about Javi Eraso, who scored the assist for the first goal, Garitano spoke about the Navarrese: "We already know him, we know what he gives us. We've put in an extra midfielder inside and he has a lot of volume there. He hasn't played much for many months and we'll have to be careful with his workload. There are going to be players who are not participating now who are going to play if their day-to-day continues to be as good as I'm seeing."

"We've had two good results but we need to be more solvent and stronger."

On Bustinza, Asier confirmed that "he has a discomfort, he has been working apart all week and we decided that it was better that he did not travel, but we hope that tomorrow or Wednesday he will work with the group". When asked about other names such as Borja Bastón, the coach believes that "it is a matter of choice, we have taken out Miguel, who can be deeper. He has had to sit out these two games but he will be ready, as Brandon, Lasure... who are training well. Kevin Bua didn't even warm up against Lugo, today he had his chance and he took advantage of it".
Finally, he took stock of his first two games in charge of Leganés: "We need to improve. We have had two good results but we need to be more solvent and stronger. We have to improve the details, there are many things to insist on in order to be a little bit better each time", he concluded.
