Borja Garcés opens his account in El Alcoraz

C.D. Leganés striker Borja Garcés scored his first Pepinero goal this Friday in El Alcoraz, assisted by Lazar Randjelovic, increasing the scoreline to 0-2 over S.D. Huesca in the 83' to secure the win for new manager Mehdi Nafti.

Garcés first joined the fray early in the second half as a substitution for Juan Muñoz, eventually converting his clearest-cut chance of the game to tip the result for Leganés. The number '28' was elated with the goal and what the victory meant to the team: "We've been working hard and things haven't gone our way, but the team's spirit didn't falter. We've struggled a lot but these were a very, very important three points for us. It's only recently our new boss has come in, but everyday we're learning new things with him. We follow his instructions and it's got us to this victory here".

Borja was quick to emphasise the next challenge though: "It's been a while since I scored, I haven't been in the best form due to muscle problems and it's been a long recovery. I'd like to dedicate this goal to my family, my friends, to my grandfather and to all the fans. We can't let this go to waste the next game; we'll fight to the death and the fans will be right alongside us, we have to be strong and take all three points from Oviedo".
