C.D Leganés returns this Saturday (13:00h) to Estadio Abanca Balaídos, the place where the team played its first LaLiga Santander’s Match and achieved its first victory on Spanish First Division.
On August 22 2016 Pepineros won on their first match on First Division at Balaídos. The match result was 0-1 and Leganés’ goal was scored by Victor Díaz. Unai Bustinza, Miguel Ángel Guerrero and Rubén Pérez also participated on that match against Celta.
Pepineros also managed to win at Vigo on round of 16 of 2000/01 Copa del Rey’s match with a goal scored by Ariza Makukula (0-1). Despite the last, the team didn’t manage to reach the next round of the competition.
The club has visited Vigo two more times. On 2017/18, Celta won (1-0) after a penalty kick goal by Iago Aspas. 2018/19’s game finished on a 0-0 draw.
