C.D. Leganés recruit their first signing of the winter window: Róber Ibáñez

C.D. Leganés and C.A. Osasuna reached an agreement this Tuesday on the loan of winger Roberto Ibáñez Castro, 28, until the end of the 2021/22 season. The deal includes an option to buy at the season's completion.

As such, Róber Ibáñez begins his third stint with the blanquiazules, having joined the club during the 2016/17 LaLiga Santander season and the 2020/21 LaLiga SmartBank. Unfortunately, his first stretch as a pepinero was cut short due to a serious knee injury, limiting his appearances to only five in all competitions, despite scoring a brace over his ex-team, Osasuna, in the club's first ever home win in the first division, as well as providing an assist in another encounter. Last season, Ibáñez featured in 28 games for Leganés, scoring four, with all appearances coming in the second half of the season.

Third stay at the club after joining in 2016/17 and 2020/21

A skilled, quick and mobile player, capable of playing down either flank, his development began in Valencia C.F.'s academy, where he made his first team debut in 2014. Moving to Granada C.F. before back to Valencia, the wide player would go on to sign for C.A. Osasuna and Getafe C.F. He participated in five top flight fixtures with the Navarran club.

Róber joins Nafti's training sessions from Tuesday, meeting his new coach and teammates, already a familiar face to several players from last year's campaign.
