C.D. Leganés Senior Femenino aiming for victory over Pozuelo de Alarcón ‘B’

C.D. Leganés Senior Femenino face C.F. Pozuelo de Alarcón ‘B’ this Saturday at 15:00 (CET) in the Anexo Jesús Polo in the hopes of securing a ninth consecutive victory. The visitors approach the game after suffering a defeat last matchday against A.D. Colmenar Viejo (1-2).

League football is back for C.D. Leganés Senior Femenino after last week's hiatus due to COVID detection in the opponent's, Olímpico de Madrid ‘B’, camp. The postponement created a marathon of fixtures for the team, who face three encounters in a single week. Yet these are three fixtures ripe for the taking; their first clash comes this Saturday against C.F. Pozuelo de Alarcón ‘B’.

The pepineras are in fighting form, having emphatically defeated Electrocor Las Rozas (10-1) in their most recent battle two weeks ago. C.F. Pozuelo de Alarcón ‘B’ present a fresh opportunity for the blanquiazules to extend their winning streak to a ninth consecutive match, only having dropped points in their draw against Futbolellas (1-1) on October 24th. Currently leading the pack, another victory could create distance between any direct rivals and ensure their premiership for the time being. The pepineras return to their ground of the Anexo Jesús Polo, with a strong home crowd behind them, to duel for the three-point reward.

“Both the opponents themselves and the intense timing won't make this an easy fixture"

It's always a unique encounter when you face the league leaders, so while C.F. Pozuelo de Alarcón ‘B’, who occupy 7th place, have not had the most consistent form right now, the challenge ahead of them could inspire a giant-toppling performance. The visitors are without a win since December 12th, their last coming against Electrocor Las Rozas in a 2-1 result. Since then they have struggled to overcome three opponents, settling for two draws and a defeat in this time.

Pepinero coach, Jero Martos, expressed his thoughts on Saturday's C.F. Pozuelo de Alarcón ‘B’ fixture as well as what else the future might hold for his blanquiazules: “Both the opponents themselves and the intense timing won't make this an easy fixture". Despite the context of three fixtures held within seven days, Martos felt confident in his squad's ability to handle the challenge and face the week "in the hopes of finishing with good morale and strong results that would let us continue battling in the league".
