C.D. Leganés split points with Real Sociedad 'B' (1-1)

C.D. Leganés were forced to split the spoils of their 23rd LaLiga SmartBank match of the season with Real Sociedad 'B' at the Butarque (1-1). Randjelovic scored for the pepineros, levelling the field after Olasagasti opened with a goal for the donostiarras, both after the half time break.

Bautista found the net in the first half, but VAR ruled out the goal

Mehdi Nafti introduced four new faces to the XI that played six days ago in Valladolid, the home of their last league opponents. Iván Villar stepped in for Riesgo between the sticks, while Sergio González covered Quintillà at the back, Randjelovic replaced Naim on the right side and Bautista substituted Borja Garcés up front. Arnaiz was the first Blanquiazul to create the first opportunity, with a hard left-footed strike in the 2'. Both Randjelović and Reci, in the 7' and 14' respectively, put further challenges on Zubiaurre, but won little more than a corner.

Bautista made his aerial presence known with a header on Zubiaurre, who leapt to smother the ball. Bautista finally beat the realistas keeper in the 36’ after a scramble in the box left the opportunity begging: referee Ais Reig allowed the goal initially, but VAR ruled against the play for an alleged offside. At the first break, the result remained the same as it had started.

Olasagasti took the lead for the visitors and Randjelovic levelled for Lega

Juan Muñoz's substitution for Gaku over half time was Mehdi Nafti's first adjustment to the side. In the 49’, el Sanse were able to pull ahead thanks to Olasagasti's goal to make it 0-1. On the hour stroke, Bárcenas came on as a substitute for José Arnaiz on the pepineros' left wing. Then, in the60’, Randjelovic made a quick turn in the box to beat a pair of defenders and launch a powerful shot on his right from close range onto the far side netting. He celebrated his fifth goal of the campaign.

Javi Hernández was on the cusp of making it 2-1, but Zubiaurre was effective in closing down the 1v1. Bautista and Pardo continued to shoot, with the midfielder brushing the post. Garcés came on to refresh the blanquiazul attack in the 76', relieving Bautista. Lega persisted until the final whistle, with Bárcenas creating the final chance of the game, hoping to find the top corner, but the scoreboard remained equal.

Leganés hold 26 in the table and have their next league fixture scheduled for Sunday 23rd January at 14:00 (CET) against Burgos C.F.
