Yacine Qasmi joins C.D. Leganés attacking line

This Saturday C.D. Leganés agreed the transfer of French-Moroccan Yacine Qasmi, 31, to the pepinero club. The forward, who has played for Rayo Vallecano the last two seasons, will don a blanquiazul kit until the end of the 2022/23 season.

Qasmi, born in France but of dual French-Moroccan nationality, developed within the youth academy of Paris Saint Germain, with his first team debut coming in a Europa League fixture. He arrived in Spain in 2012 to join Getafe C.F., intially as a member of their affiliate team. Thereafter, he moved to a variety of clubs including Real Sporting, Sestao River, Compostela, Alcoyano, Mérida and Melilla.

His impressive performances and eye-catching statistics with the melillenses caught the attention of a number of sides, not least Elche C.F., with whom he signed in January 2019 to play in LaLiga SmartBank. He continued to grow as a player and secured another move to Rayo Vallecano the following year, where he hepled the club along to the LaLiga Santander at the end of last season. An explosive forward with a strong aerial presence, he now joins the pepineros after leaving the franjirrojos.

The forward will immediately join the blanquiazul camp to participate in Nafti's training sessions; his presentation scheduled for the coming week.
