Fundación C.D. Leganés has been represented at the XVII Meeting of Professional Football Club Foundations, organized by the LALIGA FOUNDATION and the Villarreal CF Foundation. An event that has joined together the main foundations of Spanish professional footbal to discuss relevant topics such as work with children and youth, social impact and climate justice.
The meeting began with a guided tour of the Estadio de la Cerámica, where participants were able to learn about its facilities and history. On Thursday, the sessions were focused on different round tables that addressed trends in the management of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in professional soccer, as well as the current status of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the sector.
One of the highlights was the panel discussion on strategies to enhance the social action of foundations, with special emphasis on youth. Impact initiatives such as bullying prevention projects and educational programs were also presented.
Climate justice and its impact on football were also central topics of discussion, analyzing how foundations can contribute to the mitigation of climate change from the sports field. In addition, thanks were expressed to all the foundations present for their management and support after the DANA catastrophe, highlighting the importance of solidarity and collaboration between clubs in times of difficulty.
