Leganés earned an important win against S.D. Huesca to finish the first half of the season with 22 points (1-0)

C.D. Leganés earned an important victory in the last match of the first half of the season after beating S.D. Huesca (1-0) thanks to a goal by En-Nesyri on the second half. With the victory, Mauricio Pellegrino's men reached 22 points.

Nothing to separate both sides on the first half

The match started with complete parity between Leganés and Huesca. The locals could only test Santamaria from outside the box, first with a shot from SIlva and then Oscar in a couple of ocassions, first going wide and then forcing a save from Huesca's keeper.

On the other hand, Huesca tried to generate their game throigh the wings, and Ferreiro had the best chance of the first half forcing Siovas to clear the ball off the line.

Leganés got the better chances of the second half

Pellegrino's men went for the match on the second half and in the first minutes Jonathan Silva could have opened the account one on one against the keeper, but his shot was stopped.

Minutes later would be En-Nesyri who would have a good chance. The Moroccan one on one against the keeper hit the post and then he had a header bound for goal denied by Santamaria. Bustinza also had a good chance from a header but couldn't find the back of the net.

En-Nesyri becomes the goal hero

Butarque was loud and pushing for the goal and the goal came. Jonathan Silva put in a cross from the left and En-Nesyri with a first time shot putting the ball on the back of the net and unleashing the celebrations in a  packed Butarque. El Zhar had the chance to double the lead but again in a one on one Santamaria was victorious.

The negative of the day was the injury suffered by Carrillo who had to leave the pitch.

The next match will be played on Wednesday 16th at Butarque against Real Madrid for the second leg of the Copa del Rey tie.
