As if it was today… a year ago Leganés won the #DerbiHistórico against Getafe at Coliseúm Alfonso Pérez (0-2). It was a key victory for the pepineros’ main objective of staying at first division. Michael Santos and Juanfran scored the goals for the team at second half.

Mauricio Pellegrino’s team was eight points away from relegation spots. The locals were fourth on the league. Leganés initial squad was: Cuéllar, Nyom, Bustinza, Tarín, Siovas, Jonathan Silva, Óscar, Rubén Pérez, Vesga, Santos and Carrillo. Bratihwaite, Juanfran and Javi Merino played on the second half.

The pepineros started the match with great motivation. On 18’ Carrillo had the chance to score via penalty kick but David Soria managed to stop it. The team continued with their intensity and even Cuellar had to put his part to save the white and blues after a shoot by Arrambari.

The team managed to score the first goal 10 minutes after half time. Michael Santos scored with a header after a cross by Silva from the left. Even though the referee called and offside, the VAR assisted him to allow the first pepinero’s goal.

Leganés kept the control of the match and it was Juanfran who would score the 0-2 on 81’, just 4 minutes after getting on the pitch, it was a strong shoot that Soria couldn’t manage to stop. The pepineros won 0-2 at Getafe and managed to continue their way to guarantee a spot at first division on the next season.
