C.D. Leganés, back to winning ways at RCDE Stadium

C.D. Leganés will visit R.C.D. Espanyol for the seventh time this Sunday (21:00) in an official match. The pepineros have won twice at the RCDE Stadium, both times in the First Division and the last time, last season.

Espanyol and Leganés have met six times in Barcelona in official matches, four of them in the top flight, one in the second division and one in the Copa del Rey. The balance is two wins for Espanyol, in 2017/18 and 2019/20, and four victories for Leganes.

Two wins at the RCDE Stadium, both by 0-1 and with goals from Argentine defenders.

Leganés won for the first time at Cornellà-El Prat on the second matchday of the 2017/18 season, winning 0-1 with a goal from Mantovani. Identical scoreline to their second victory at Perico's home ground, last season, precisely also on matchday 34, when they won thanks to a goal from another Argentine defender, Jonathan Silva.
The other four precedents ended with a local victory, in 2016/17 (3-0), in a match marked by the serious injury of Jon Ander Serantes, and 2018/19 (1-0), in the First Division; in 1993/94 (3-0), in the Second Division; and in 1995/96 (5-1, with a goal by Javi López), in a Copa del Rey clash.
