C.D. Leganés, ready to kick off the season

C.D. Leganés are ready to commence their LaLiga campaign. The pepineros face Real Sociedad 'B' in the first matchday of the season as they prepare to give their everything at at the Reale Arena. Lega approach the start of the season off the back of 4 preseason victories as well as bolstering their squad with new signings Quintillá, Doukouré, Yoel Bárcenas, Iván Villar and Borja Garcés.

Asier Garitano's side, who finished last season in third place after playing in the promotion play-offs, will continue to fight for victory from the very first whistle. As Garitano himself said at the press conference, "we will have to suffer and adapt as we did in pre-season" but, going forward, "we are in good condition".

Sanse, in the second division 60 years later


For their part, the donostiarra side make their home debut in their first game in the Second Division after 60 years since their last promotion in Figueras. Xabi Alonso's side secured their passage up last season against Algeciras, where Karribakuru sealed the game. El Sanse have played six pre-season friendlies this season, winning three, drawing two and losing one. Another team that will be gunning for a first day victory, according to Alonso, "we're not setting ourselves limits, we'll see how far we can go".

The match will be officiated by the Catalan referee, Mr. Víctor García Verdura.
