Javier Aguirre: “We have to believe in ourselves, it is difficult but not impossible”

C.D Leganés’ manager Javier Aguirre attended the media this Friday in the pre-match press conference held at I.D Butarque before the 32nd matchday of LaLiga that will be played this Saturday (19:30h) against Osasuna at El Sadar. The pepineros’ head coach confirmed that Bustinza (suspended), Carrillo and Óscar (injuries) will not be part of the squad.

“Unai Bustinza cannot play because of yellow cards accumulation. We may lose Carrillo for the rest of the season and decided not to take risks with Óscar for this Match.

The manager does not think that having more resting hours than their rivals is something they can benefit from: “We were the team that had the least resting time during the last four matches and we still ran more than our rivals, so I do not think it is a differential factor. We had chances to win the last four games, maybe we did not have many options at Barcelona but on all of them we have had some bad luck. We will line up the best team and luck may happen to be in our favory… neither luck nor referees train with me during the week”.

Aguirre thinks that they must not be overconfident because their rivals have practically secured the survival: “We should not think about the others’ responsibilities because we are the one with the needs right now. We will try to win it trying not to think what Osasuna is fighting for. We have made a good defensive work, we have not received many goals, we have had more ball possession in three of the last four games, but we are missing out the goals”.

The mexican manager summarized the team’s objectives: “Score goals, do not make mistakes and getting points, that is what we must do. We cannot depend on no one. It is difficult but not impossible, I have seen more complicated things that have been achieved. We must believe in ourselves and move forward”.
