Szymanowski: "Today, I felt like a footballer again"

Alexander Szymanowski spoke to the press right after the friendly match in Butarque Stadium

“Today, I felt like a footballer again. I will keep the memory of th moments right before the match, to see my name and number on the shirt, wear shin guards again… it’s been really special and a very important day for me,” said Szymanowski.

“I felt well. I had a delicate past few days due to some aches, but it was normal after a few weeks of high intensity training. The idea is to only keep going forward,” said the Argentinian.

 Alexander Szymanowski seem full of hope to help his teammates in what is left in of the season: “I’m available for the coach. If I’m lucky, this year I’ll be able to enjoy of the people in Butarque, who have made me so happy.

“Cheer the fans to keep supporting us. Butarque has to keep on fighting. We are the one who need to motivate the fans. We are confident that our fans will not get tired of supporting us. We need them to end as high as possible,” mentioned Szymanowski about the importance of the cucumber fans to the team.

Lastly, Szymanowski spoke about March 30th#DerbiHistórico at 13:00h in the Coliseum. “There’s no need to motivate anyone. We all know of how crucial this match is. We know that for Leganés and the city is not just another match. We will give our best so people can leave happy from there.”
