C.D. Leganés supports World Rare Disease Day

This Sunday's match against S.D. Eibar will serve as a loudspeaker for the visibility of these pathologies. C.D. Leganés will be taking part in the World Day for Rare Diseases, which will be celebrated this Thursday, February 29.

The club will dedicate the match this Sunday, March 3 (21:00) against S.D. Eibar to the visibility of these pathologies with different actions prior to the match. Throughout the 2023/24 season, the club is carrying out a campaign together with the Spanish Federation of Rare Diseases (FEDER) to give visibility to those affected by these pathologies and their families and closest environment.

As the most prominent and visible measure in this event, our team will play the match against the Armeros, corresponding to the twenty-ninth day of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, with its third kit, consisting of pink, purple, green and blue colors, associated with Rare Diseases, instead of its traditional blue and white kit.

Auction of shirts whose proceeds will go to FEDER

In addition, these shirts, with which our players will play the match, will be signed by the players and will be auctioned later thanks to the agreement reached with MatchWornShirt, a company specialized in sports jersey auctions. The proceeds will be donated to FEDER to contribute to research. It should be recalled that the club has already pledged to donate 10% of the profits obtained from the sale of the third kit shirts to FEDER, a percentage that has been doubled these days: everyone who buys them will be donating 20% of the profits to the association.

The fans will illuminate the stadium with the flashlights of their phones and stickers with the colors associated with rare diseases.

In the run-up to Sunday's match, the fans will light up the Estadio Municipal Butarque once the warm-up is over: the club will distribute stickers in the seats with the colors associated with rare diseases that fans will have to stick on the flashlights of their cell phones, which they will turn on to form a unique print. To this end, the club urges all fans to arrive at the stadium in good time and take their seats at 8:45 pm.

Beforehand, outside the stadium, up to thirteen associations will be present with stands so that all fans can find out about the needs of these groups and do their bit by purchasing merchandising items to improve the lives of patients and their families. These will be:

  • Spanish Scleroderma Association
  • Acrómates
  • GA Families (Glutaric Aciduria Type 1 and Type 2)
  • AEMAREH (Spanish Association of Ano-Rectal Malformations and Hirchsprung's Disease).
  • ACCES (Spanish Association of Congenital Cataract)
  • La Sonrisa de la Guerrera (Warrior's Smile)
  • ELA (Spanish Association of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis)
  • ALDE (Spanish Dystonia Association)
  • Asociación Madrileña de Fibrosis Quística (Madrid Cystic Fibrosis Association)
  • AMCME (Macrocephaly with Capillary Malformation Association of Spain)
  • Spanish Prader-Willi Syndrome Association
  • IDIC15Q Association
  • Duchenne Parent Project Spain

In addition, with the help of Trigal Peluqueros, all fans will be able to wear a lock of hair with the colors of rare diseases, and a mural will be installed in the grandstand area with the collaboration of Nara Seguros where they can leave their message of encouragement to the people who suffer from them.

Children affected by these pathologies will take to the field with our players and those of S.D. Eibar

Children affected by these and other rare diseases, such as Perthes Disease, Hemiparesis or Prion Diseases, will take to the pitch hand in hand with our players and those of S.D. Eibar, and a family photo will be taken once on the pitch.

Finally, all fans will be informed of the FEDER account number for any donation they may wish to make.
