C.D. Leganés Senior Femenino collect a ninth consecutive win (2-1)

C.D. Leganés Senior Femenino defeated C.F. Pozuelo de Alarcón ‘B’ (2-1) to maintain their position in 1st. Infantil ‘A’ también also enjoyed victory, while Cadete suffered a narrow loss, with Juvenil and Infantil ‘B’ drawing their games.

The senior side have tackled, successfully, the first of the three games scheduled for this hectic week. The pepinero side's objective was to extend their winning streak to nine consecutive games against opponents Pozuelo de Alarcón ‘B’; though they acheived their goal, it was a struggle until the final whistle. The blanquiazules responded to the early first goal from the visitors to take the lead and record 27 points in their last nine games, a contribution towards the ultimate goal: promotion.

The senior team were put on the back foot early on

The visitors were in the lead from the 3' thanks to María Moya, which did not bode well for the pepineras. That said, they were quick to react and get themselves back into the match, with Vane equalising directly from a freekick in the 24'. As the pepineras maintained the pressure, they secured the goal advantage in the 39' when Trapero turned the score to 2-1 by half time.

C.F. Pozuelo de Alarcón ‘B’ were restless and, despite them being down a goal, submitted the home side to a barrage of approaches on goal. In the end, they were unable to break their resolve, allowing the pepineras to continue the same winning streak since the end of October 2021.

The result completes the first of the three fixtures that await this week, with two still to play. Jero Martos' squad have not dropped from their position in 1st and now count 38 points in their campaign so far, with a game in hand over second-place pursuers Las Rozas C.F., who hold 37 points. Their next test: this Wednesday against Olímpico de Madrid ‘B’.

Goal-fest for Infantil 'A' and two ties for Juvenil and Infantil ‘B’

Jorge Ridao's Juvenil delivered a thrilling performance that saw them dominate possession and the final third, but they were disappointed by a 0-0 result after the opponent's frustrated their attacking designs.

Adrián Nieto's Cadete were equally forced to split the poitns after their clash with Pozuelo de Alarcón. Again, for all their goalscoring threats, including three separate shots ricocheting off the frame, there was no winner after 90 minutes at the Anexo Jesús Polo.

Adrián Huerta's Infantil 'A' on the other hand enjoyed fantastic game this weekend. These pepineras obliterated C.D. Nuevo Boadilla by 7-0: Sara (3), Afri (2), Alejandra and Sandra all netted during the match. Infantil ‘B’ came away with a single point after their eight-goal encounter with C.F. Madrid Sur (4-). María, Irene and Carla Pérez (2) were the blanquiazules that made it onto the scorecard.
