Born in Benidorm, San Román trained in Atlético Madrid's youth teams, making his debut with the Rojiblanco reserve team in the 2016/17 season after finishing his time as a youth player. After promotion to Segunda División B, he completed three seasons with Atlético B, playing in a playoff for promotion to LALIGA HYPERMOTION and earning a call-up to the first team.
In 2019, he was loaned to Elche C.F., making his debut in the silver category and participating in the Franjiverde team's promotion to LALIGA EA SPORTS. After returning to Atlético, he made his debut with Atlético Madrid's first team in a Copa del Rey match against Cornellà.
After leaving Atlético, San Román began a new professional stage in 2021 by signing for S.D. Huesca. He played a season and a half in LALIGA HYPERMOTION with the Huesca-based club, signing for S.D. Ponferradina in January 2023. That same summer, he returned to Elche C.F., where he has competed for the last two seasons, gaining experience in the second division and achieving another promotion to LALIGA EA SPORTS with the Franjiverde team last June, keeping a clean sheet in more than 50% of his matches.
