MARIO SORIA

A goalkeeper trained in the youth academy of C.D. Leganés, Mario Soria Amor joined the first team in the 1989/90 season under Luis Ángel Duque and made club history by becoming the first Leganés goalkeeper to score a goal in Segunda División. It happened on November 13, 1993, at the Municipal Luis Rodríguez de Miguel against Castellón, when he headed in a corner to equalize the match in the final play during the white-and-blues’ first season in the second tier. After his retirement, he returned to the club as a goalkeeping coach and team delegate, roles he held until the end of the 2012/13 season.
