Legends of Leganés
ANTONIO
A forward who joined the club in 1992, Antonio Martín Rubio earned his place in Leganés history as one of the heroes of the club’s first promotion to professional football in 1993. In his debut season with the team, he scored twelve goals, including two in the final and decisive match against Elche at the Municipal Luis Rodríguez de Miguel.
He later remained with the club for two more seasons in Segunda División, during which he scored another fourteen goals. However, without a doubt, the most memorable were those two on June 27, 1993, which secured Leganés’ first-ever step into Segunda División after 65 years of history.
