VÍCTOR FERNÁNDEZ
A forward developed in the club’s youth academy who moved at a young age to Real Madrid’s lower categories. After an extensive career in Primera and Segunda División with teams such as Real Valladolid and Villarreal, and making his debut for the Spanish national team, he returned to Leganés in the summer of 2011 as part of an ambitious project aiming to return to the second tier.
After a challenging season, Víctor played 31 matches and scored eleven goals before hanging up his boots to take charge of the team from the bench with four league matches remaining and the club in serious danger of relegation to Tercera División. Under his leadership, the team achieved three wins and one draw, allowing Leganés to continue growing in the following seasons.
