Legends of Leganés
CARLOS ÁLVAREZ
An Asturian forward who joined Leganés in the summer of 2013 from Cádiz C.F. While the team was in Segunda División B, he became the hero of that season’s promotion to Segunda División by scoring the decisive goal in L'Hospitalet with a spectacular bicycle kick. Earlier, he had already been decisive in the promotion play-offs with goals against Guijuelo and L'Hospitalet in the first-leg match.
He scored eighteen goals in his first season as a Leganés player, continuing with the team the following year in Segunda División. The “Guaje” appeared in nine more matches, scoring once under Asier Garitano, before ending his time at the club in January 2015.
