C.D. Leganés and Getafe C.F. have reached an agreement for the one-season loan of 29-year-old attacking midfielder Álex San Cristóbal. The deal with the Madrid native, who previously spent four years with Leganés’ reserve team, includes a conditional purchase option at the end of the season.
Sancris is an attacking player capable of playing in various positions on the offensive end. A direct player with good use of both feet and a knack for scoring, Álex came up through the Trival Valderas youth system, joining the Leganés youth academy in 2018 to play for Leganés ‘B’.
He played for the Leganés reserve team for four seasons, securing promotion to the Segunda Federación in 2021 and serving as team captain during their first campaign in that division. That year, he also led Carlos Martínez’s team in scoring with ten goals.
He made the leap to professional soccer with Burgos after captaining Leganés ‘B’ for four seasons
In 2022, he ended his time with Leganés to sign with Linares, and just one year later, he got the chance to make his professional debut with Burgos C.F. With the team from El Plantío, he had two outstanding seasons that earned him a move to LALIGA EA SPORTS last summer with Getafe C.F. With the Madrid-based club, he played twenty-one official matches in his debut season in the top flight, helping the team qualify for the UEFA Conference League.
Now, Sancris is returning to Leganés to—this time for real—play for the first team in LALIGA HYPERMOTION during the 2026/27 season, with an option to buy at the end of the season. The player will join training this Tuesday under Rubén Albés and will be introduced on Wednesday starting at 1:00 p.m. at Ontime Butarque Stadium.
