Miquel trained in the youth teams of F.C. Barcelona, R.C.D. Espanyol, and U.E. Cornellà, signing with English club Arsenal F.C. in the 2008/09 season. He made his debut with the Gunners' first team in the 2010/11 season in an FA Cup match under Arsène Wenger, making his debut the following year in the Premier League and Champions League. He ended his time at the London club with fourteen official matches and one goal. In 2013/14, he was loaned to Leicester City, spending the following season at Norwich City.

The Catalan center back returned to Spain in 2015 to play for S.D. Ponferradina, moving to C.D. Lugo the following year. His good work earned him a move to the First Division in the middle of the 2017/18 season, when he was signed by Málaga C.F. After six months with the Costa del Sol side, he signed for Getafe C.F. in the summer of 2018, subsequently playing for Girona F.C., Leganés, Huesca, Granada, and Levante before returning to Butarque in the summer of 2025.

Miquel played for all categories of the Spanish national team, winning the European Championship with the U-19s in 2011 and also making his debut with the U-21s.
