C.D. Leganés coach Igor Oca appeared at a press conference on Saturday after his team's match against Córdoba C.F. at the Bahrain Victorious Nuevo Arcángel stadium, corresponding to matchday 26 of LALIGA HYPERMOTION, which ended in a 2-1 defeat.
The coach analyzed what happened on the pitch as follows:
Match analysis: “It was the match we expected. It was going to be open because they create a lot, and we wanted to make it difficult for them with high pressure and create situations. They were more effective, and that made a big difference. Our lack of forcefulness gave them the chance to score, not to mention the spaces we conceded at the end in search of the equalizer. The details of competitiveness tipped the balance in their favor”.
Change from the first leg: "Back then, we barely knew each other and there were a lot of absences. Two months have passed and we've developed different behaviors. You have to complement that courage with goal-scoring opportunities and being decisive in defense. They always ended up with fouls against us and the referee was very permissive. That's a learning experience. We have to be brave and take the initiative with the ball, but we fell short. We have to raise the bar because we can't settle for anything. We're disappointed with how it turned out“.
Away form: ”I'm focused on looking 100% at my team. We're determined to take that step forward, knowing why things happen, the competitiveness and efficiency of our opponents. We have to keep working. Away from home, we've been close to getting something out of the last three games against teams at the top, but it hasn't worked out for us“.
Córdoba: ”I see them as a brave opponent who will be there to fight for their goal".
