C.D. Leganés earned a point in their LALIGA HYPERMOTION Matchday 33 clash against Real Zaragoza at Estadio Ontime Butarque (1-1). Óscar Plano put the Pepineros ahead, while Sebas Moyano equalized for the Maños.
Óscar Plano put Lega ahead, but Moyano equalized before halftime
Igor Oca made just one change to the Pepineros’ lineup from the last match in Málaga, bringing Óscar Plano into the starting eleven and leaving Dani Rodríguez on the bench. The match began with a header by Álex Millán in the first minute that was saved by Andrada, to which Zaragoza responded with a shot by Róber in the 3rd minute that forced Juan Soriano into action for the first time. In the 11th minute, Soriano again repelled another first-time shot by Róber.
In the 19th minute, Leganés took the lead: good high pressure forced an opponent’s mistake, and Óscar Plano capitalized on it to beat Andrada with a quality finish and score the 1-0, his third goal of the season. Zaragoza tried to regroup against a Leganés side that was organizing itself to look for openings, though in the 33rd minute the visitors had a chance following a set piece cleared by Juan Soriano and the Pepinera defense at the last moment. In the 35th minute, Zaragoza equalized through Sebas Moyano. The teams went into halftime tied at 1-1.
Millán had the best chances for Leganés in the second half, but the score remained unchanged
The second half began with Leganés’ first substitution, bringing on Cissé in midfield to replace Guirao. Leganés sought greater dominance against a Zaragoza side trying to take control, with a long-range shot by Cissé in the 61st minute that went wide. In the 63rd minute, Álex Millán had a good shot off a cross from Duk that Andrada deflected for a corner. And another chance for the No. 23 right after that, which the Zaragoza goalkeeper saved point-blank.
Midway through the second half, Diego García replaced Millán in search of the winning goal. Shortly after, Dani Rodríguez came on for Óscar Plano during a strong stretch for Leganés, who were fighting to find the path to a second goal. In the closing stages, Asue entered the game to play with two strikers and look for chances on Duk’s runs down the wing—Leganés’ most dangerous threat in the second half.
With both teams seeking the win but unable to score the goal that would give them the three points, the match ended, leaving Leganés with 39 points in the standings and earning a point for the third consecutive matchday. The Blue-and-Whites will face their next match this Sunday (6:30 p.m.) on the road against U.D. Almería.
