Miquel came up through the youth ranks at F.C. Barcelona, R.C.D. Espanyol, and U.E. Cornellà, signing with England’s Arsenal F.C. during the 2008–09 season. He made his debut with the Gunners’ first team during the 2010–11 season in an FA Cup match under Arsène Wenger, making his Premier League and Champions League debuts the following year. He concluded his time at the London club with fourteen official matches and one goal. In the 2013–14 season, he was loaned to Leicester City, then spent the following season at Norwich City.

The Catalan center back returned to Spain in 2015 to play for S.D. Ponferradina, moving to C.D. Lugo the following year. His strong performances earned him a promotion to the Primera División midway through the 2017–18 season, when he was signed by Málaga C.F. After half a year with the Costa del Sol club, he signed with Getafe C.F. in the summer of 2018, later playing for Girona F.C., Leganés (during his first stint there), Huesca, Granada, and Levante before returning to Butarque in the summer of 2025.

Miquel represented Spain at all youth levels, winning the European Championship with the U-19 team in 2011 and also making his debut with the U-21 team.
