C.D. Leganés has successfully developed a new international event in the city of Baghdad, reaffirming its commitment to the global expansion of its methodology and the training of talent in strategic markets.
The initiative, organized by the club's International Department in Iraq, was structured around two main initiatives. Firstly, specific training was provided for local coaches, who participated in theoretical and practical sessions led by CD Leganés coaches. During these sessions, the fundamentals of the club's playing model, its training methodology applied to the different stages of training, and the planning of tasks according to age were shared, combining classroom content with field work.
After the training phase, the event continued with a draft that brought together more than 70 players over three intense days of work. The players participated in sessions conducted entirely under the club's own methodology, as well as playing matches that allowed the coaching staff to evaluate the individual and collective performance of the participants.
The ultimate goal of the draft was to select the most outstanding players, who will have the opportunity to train with the CD Leganés International Academy, taking another step forward in their athletic development within the club's training structure.
More than 70 players and dozens of local coaches participated in an initiative that combined methodological and talent training, consolidating CD Leganés' international presence in the Middle East.
