C.D. Leganés ‘B’ defeated C.D.F. Tres Cantos 2-3 in their match on Matchday 33 of Group 7 in Tercera RFEF. With this victory, the Leganés reserve team has secured a spot in the promotion playoffs to Segunda Federación.
HERRERO, BELTRÁN, AND HUGO GARCÍA SCORED THE GOALS
The team led by Manolo Rueda defeated C.D.F. Tres Cantos in a hard-fought match between two teams with very different goals: the home side was seeking a win to secure their place in the division, while the reserve team aimed to secure their spot in the promotion playoffs to Segunda RFEF.
Just past the half-hour mark, following a fantastic combination play on the edge of the box, Leganés B scored their first goal through Jorge Herrero. The captain finished perfectly in a one-on-one with the visiting goalkeeper to put his team ahead.
In the second half, the reserve team didn’t take their foot off the gas and continued to seek a second goal, which came in the 61st minute with a great header by center back Beltrán Auguste Paolucci off a cross from Sergio Fernández. Moments later, the reserve team was awarded a penalty after a handball in the home team’s area. Hugo García made it 0-3, but C.D.F. Tres Cantos didn’t give up and pressed until the final whistle, managing to score two goals and leaving the final score at 2-3.
