C.D. Leganés has secured the services of 21-year-old forward Unax del Cura Urra for the next four seasons after paying the player’s buyout clause. The talented forward arrives from C.D. Mirandés, where he made a name for himself in LALIGA HYPERMOTION last season.
The Biscayan began his soccer training at Villarreal C.F. at age twelve, progressing through all the youth ranks until he stood out in the youth division, earning a promotion to Villarreal ‘C’ during the 2023–24 season. The following year, he was loaned to Lleida, and in the summer of 2025, he signed with C.D. Mirandés.
After starting the season with the Third Division reserve team—scoring seven goals in the first half of the season—Unax joined the first team’s lineup in LALIGA HYPERMOTION in March. He scored his first professional goal in his debut as a starter for Mirandés, netting one of the goals in the victory over Real Valladolid, and emerged as one of the breakout stars of the final stretch of the season in the second division.

Unax scored five goals and provided two assists in just thirteen matches, including a two-goal performance against Granada on the penultimate matchday, keeping the Jabatos’ hopes of avoiding relegation alive until the final matchday, when they lost to Leganés at Ontime Butarque.
Now, the young Basque forward is joining Leganés to begin a new chapter and bring his energy, skill, confidence, and goal-scoring ability to the Pepineras. Unax has signed a contract through 2030 and will be introduced next week.
