C.D. Leganés kicks off its 2026/27 Copa del Rey campaign this Wednesday (8:00 p.m.) against C.F. Trival Valderas at Ontime Butarque Stadium in the first round of the single-elimination tournament.
The Pepineros will play as the visiting team in this first cup match of the season, as the game cannot be held at Trival’s home stadium. For this match, the Blue-and-Whites’ head coach, Luis Carrión, welcomes back Álvaro Morata, who was suspended for the last league match.
For its part, Trival Valderas is making its debut in this edition of the Copa del Rey as a representative of Madrid’s Third Division group, after coming within a hair’s breadth of promotion last season. The Alcorcón-based team currently sits eighth in Group 7 with just one loss this season, and is coming off a 2-2 draw last Sunday against Leganés ‘B’.
Referee Marta Huerta will officiate the match.
